I didn’t come to kettlebell sport early in my career. I’d already spent years working in the fitness industry, coaching strength, movement, and resilience in many different forms. It wasn’t until lockdown that I discovered kettlebells as a competitive discipline, and something about it immediately clicked.
What started as curiosity quickly became commitment. I learned the sport from the ground up, trained consistently, and within a year found myself competing internationally for England. That early success wasn’t something I expected, but it confirmed that I’d found a discipline that suited both my body and my mindset.
The years that followed were intense. Medals, new events, leadership roles, and then injury. A torn rotator cuff, surgery, rehabilitation, and the real possibility that competition might no longer be part of my future. During that time, the work became quieter. Progress was measured in small wins and patience rather than performance.
Returning to competition in Hungary after that period felt significant, regardless of outcome. Lifting again mattered more than results. But the platform delivered something unexpected: a gold medal, a world record, and Master of Sport World Class. In a year that began with recovery and uncertainty, simply being able to compete had already felt like enough.
Kettlebell sport continues to grow, and I’m more interested than ever in how it can be shared. Not just at elite level, but through grassroots competitions, online coaching, community events, and inclusive challenges that invite people in rather than exclude them. Strength doesn’t need to be complicated or inaccessible to be meaningful.
Being supported by partners who understand that long-term vision matters. Working with Physical Company has been part of creating environments where high-quality equipment, thoughtful programming, and inclusive events can exist together. It’s not about chasing trends, but about building something sustainable.
This chapter has reinforced something I’ve always believed: strength is built over time, through consistency, belief, and a willingness to keep showing up. Even when the path changes.
